Nicknamed: "The House of Pain" for reasons
that will become rapidly evident
Description of Site: Quarry site. Situated on top of a
hill in Briercliffe, just past kennels. All approach
roads are quite narrow with few opportunities to turn
around. Only go in a four wheel drive vehicle as last
bit is uphill across open country and there's nowhere to
park where it leaves the road. Also, very rutted towards
top of hill. Risk of grounding with low slung trailers.

From
A646 Burnley Road, take Red Lees Road about 6 miles
west of Todmorden, left turn if coming from Burnley,
right turn if coming from Halifax. (Signposted
Worsthorne and also “Burnley – Avoiding low bridge” if
coming from Halifax).
Follow
for 2 Miles aprox then turn right onto Salterford
Road. Follow straight to Worsthorne village. Road will
become Ormerod Street naturally, stay on the main road
and don’t turn off.
Past
village road you will eventually come to an effective
T junction.
Turn
right onto Shay Lane. Note this is very narrow and has
a deep gully on the right side so keep left.
When
the road forks left, go straight on, onto Monk Hall
Road, again very narrow.
Go
across cattle grid next to sign for Sweetwell Boarding
Kennels and go up rough track up the hill. Ignore
satnav from cattle grid or you’ll end up at the
kennels
Follow
road around to left and through gate hole. Go past
parking area and through farm gate. (Close the gate
please. There’s a lot of sheep). Park up in car park.
